Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finishing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our concrete projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Concrete Finishing: Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement, operate power vibrators to compact concrete, level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification, apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces, waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces, repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit and support newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, provide foreign credential recognition, offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations, provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees, facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees, provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in concrete finishing
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Permanent work term
  • 40 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
