Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Service Technician to join our team at CP. As a Diesel Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our locomotives to ensure they are in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on locomotives, including fueling, cleaning, and inspecting equipment
  • Conduct thorough inspections of locomotives to identify and repair any issues
  • Test and repair electrical and mechanical systems on locomotives
  • Perform repairs and replacements of locomotive components, including brakes, hoses, and other safety-critical systems
  • Inspect and top-up fluid levels, including oil, water, and air compressor oil
  • Test and repair cab electrical devices and ensure all safety devices are functioning properly
  • Perform pre-departure safety inspections and run-throughs within terminals
  • Perform low-voltage electrical work and other tasks as required

Requirements

  • Previous mechanical experience and/or knowledge of rolling equipment is preferred
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Commercial driver's license (Class 1A, 3A) is preferred
  • Must be able to work any of three shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Must have ability to wear safety equipment and work in an environment with grease, oil, and cleaning agents
