Senior Welding Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Welding Supervisor to oversee the welding operations at our Sparwood, BC location. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing supervision and instruction to shop employees, ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct shop employees on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of P&H welding products
• Receive and prioritize bid packages with the Parts Planner, including providing quotes for mining component rebuilds with pricing and delivery
• Solve welding technical problems related to customer welding issues and implement designed upgrades to products during rebuild and or repair
• Interface with peer members of the service department to provide seamless product support
• Visit customers to build business relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain all aspects of Joy Global standards, including Safety, Human Resources, Global Quality Standards, and Process
• Assign and supervise work tasks to welders and labourers
• Assist Account Managers with technical support in selling the JGC value proposition
• Assist Field Foremen with manpower for day services and shutdowns
• Supervise mechanical component rebuilds to ensure quality standards are met and required documents are kept up to date
• Work with the Parts Planner to ensure components are delivered on time

Requirements

• Journeyman certification in Welding Trade or equivalent years of experience
• Relevant experience and P&H product expertise in the field and shop
• Understanding of various welding processes and products
• Results-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Able to multi-task and meet objectives/deliverables
• Able to mentor and lead a team of trades personnel
• Computer literacy - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook/Teams
• Report writing capabilities and ability to understand FSR, PIR, CCR systems
• Able to read and interpret drawings with ease
