About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Tobacco Farm Worker to join our team at Neville Farms LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to tobacco farming, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planting and Cultivation: Plant, cultivate, and irrigate tobacco crops to ensure optimal growth and yield.
  • Crop Maintenance: Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts, and clean the crops to prevent disease and pests.
  • Weeding and Harvesting: Weed between rows and harvest crops at the appropriate time to ensure maximum quality and yield.
  • Crop Cutting: Cut horticultural crops, including tobacco, to prepare them for market.
Work Environment

The Tobacco Farm Worker will work outdoors in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. The work site environment is wet/damp, dusty, and hot, with some noise levels.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Work Experience: Experience is an asset, but not necessary.
  • Physical Demands: The Tobacco Farm Worker must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel, and have good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Language: The primary language of work is English.
  • Work Hours: The work schedule is 40 to 80 hours per week, depending on the season.
