Job Title: Communications Consultant

About the Role:

Protak Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Communications Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication plans, providing communications consultation advice, and creating communications support materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to support organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Provide communications consultation advice to support strategic communications initiatives and strategies.
  • Create communications support materials, including reports, presentations, and brochures.
  • Develop and implement creative communication and information products using various tools and media.
  • Express and exchange information in a clear and concise manner, ensuring timely communication to stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports for specific purposes using clear, communicative, and professional language.
  • Ensure confidentiality with respect to organizational or client information and data.
  • Determine target audiences to better develop messages and identify communications impediments and barriers.
  • Provide advice on matters relating to policy/program development approaches or options and communications planning alternatives.
  • Research, develop, and implement communications strategies involving social media and related content.

Requirements:

  • A valid Top Secret security clearance from the Government of Canada.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, Media Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in media relations, including media training to Government of Canada officials.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing communication strategies and plans.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and delivering communications products and tools.
  • Experience in facilitating stakeholder engagement activities for programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Experience in providing advice to middle management on communication and engagement approaches.
  • Work will primarily be conducted in English. Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Location of work: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Remote/hybrid work is a possibility.
