About the Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Mineral Processing and Mineralogy Co-op Student to join our team at Vale Base Metals. As a co-op student, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain valuable experience in the field of mineral processing and mineralogy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the collection of chemical assays, metallurgical, and mineralogical data during work in the chemical assay labs, mineral separation labs, or mineralogy labs.
  • Froth flotation testing to determine mill recovery from ores.
  • Comminution testing to determine hardness and grindability of ore and host rocks.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a co-op program for an undergraduate degree from an university in Mineral Engineering or Materials Engineering or Mining Engineering program.
  • Previous work experience in an industrial setting would be an asset.
  • Strong Computer, Written and Oral skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
  • Develop skills and abilities related to the provision of engineering to Ontario Operations.
  • Ensure compliance to the applicable regulations, standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain a high level of professional conduct.
  • Complete assigned projects safely and on time.
