Java Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join our team at T-Net British Columbia. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable automated test frameworks and test suites working across technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Build Automated Test Frameworks: Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Java, Postman, SOAP UI, JMeter, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Create and Execute Automated Test Cases: Create, maintain, and execute automated test cases for APIs and web services, ensuring high-quality test results.
- Mentor QA Resources: Provide guidance and mentorship to QA resources in test automation, helping them to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with Development Team: Work closely with the development team to ensure that automated tests are integrated into the development process, and that test results are accurately reported.
- Provide Effort Estimates and Progress Reports: Provide regular effort estimates and progress reports to the team lead, ensuring that project timelines are met.
- Minimum of Five Years of Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a Software Development Engineer (SDE) or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role, preferably with a strong background in Java and backend automation.
- Backend Automation Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience with backend automation using technologies like RESTful APIs, Web Services, Java, Postman, SOAP UI, JMeter, REST Assured.
- Java and Scripting Skills: Accomplished abilities in Java and Core Java (minimum 4 years) and scripting languages, with a strong understanding of database CRUD operations, Unix commands, and scripting.
- DevOps Experience: Exposure to working in a DevOps environment, including installing, configuring, and integrating Automation scripts on Continuous Integration tools (CI/CD) like Jenkins.
- QA Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in QA, with a strong understanding of testing principles and methodologies.
- Git Experience: Experience using Git, with a strong understanding of version control and collaboration.
- Improving QA Best Practices: Ability to contribute to improving QA best practices, ensuring that testing processes are efficient and effective.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) Experience: Working knowledge of testing and configuring Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Performance and Security Testing: Experience with performance and/or security testing, using tools like JMeter and/or OWASP ZAP.
- Mobile App Testing: Experience with mobile app testing on iOS and Android, using tools like Appium and/or XCUI Test.
- Web App Testing: Experience with testing web apps/websites, using tools like Selenium and/or Cypress.
Relocation Support: This position requires the candidate to work out of our Vancouver office. Relocation support is not provided.
