We’re seeking a Senior Risk Management Professional to join our team at Desjardins, a leading financial services cooperative in Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and mitigating risks associated with our P&C Insurance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy to ensure the organization's strategic objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with senior management and the board of directors to identify and assess risks, and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Provide coaching and support to contributors to ensure they are able to deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the integrated risk management framework at all levels of the organization.
  • Implement and maintain strategic, reputational, cultural, and geopolitical risk management.
  • Help identify and analyze emerging risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Represent your department before various committees made up of senior managers and decision-making bodies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in the P&C insurance industry.
  • Experience in project management and planning.
  • Member of a professional association (Collège des administrateurs de sociétés, CIA, GARP, or similar).
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools, or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members, and/or clients.
  • Interest in risk management.
  • Note that the successful candidate will be required to travel between offices on occasion.
