About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Consulting Arborist to join our Ontario Ecology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting our existing activities and growing our capacity to serve clients on challenging and exciting projects across the province.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a field crew to undertake data collection and field investigations related to tree inventories in urban and remote sites in southern and central Ontario and Canada.
  • Lead the arborist component of projects, coordinating with project managers and other disciplines, tracking the budget, coordinating fieldwork and reporting, etc.
  • Draft tree inventory and tree preservation reports.
  • Data entry and other report writing.
  • Adhere to AECOM's Health and Safety Protocols.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of consulting arborist experience with a post-secondary degree or diploma in environmental science or biology, from a recognized University or College.
  • ISA Arborist Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the application of tree by-laws and policies across southern and central Ontario.
  • Strong technical capability in identifying flora of southern and central Ontario and ability to apply/use dichotomous keys.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting field work in southern and central Ontario.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to work in both field and office environments.
  • Valid Ontario Drivers License.
  • Valid Standard First Aid + CPR.
  • Efficient in the use of cell phones, laptops, tablets, and other technical devices.
