About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine screening mammography procedures, adhering to safe radiation protection protocols.
  • Receive and complete requisitions, entering relevant data into the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Prepare examination trays and patients for specific procedures, operating computerized imaging equipment.
  • Monitor patient comfort and well-being during procedures, maintaining a clean and organized examination environment.
  • Assist with general radiology exams as required, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Successful completion of CAMRT Mammography 1 or equivalent.
  • One year's recent, related experience in mammography procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for medical imaging practitioners established by CAMRT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
