Salary:

R550,000 - R650,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits.

Job Description

A challenging role is available for a skilled Chemical Process Optimisation Specialist to design and optimise chemical processes for the conversion of winery waste into premium natural products.

Key responsibilities include conducting experiments and trials to improve process efficiency, yield, and product quality, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols for chemical processes, conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new process implementations, staying updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to chemical engineering and waste management, and assisting in scaling up processes from lab-scale to production-scale.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical/Process Engineering, work experience in chemical process design, optimisation, and scale-up, strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles and unit operations, appropriate experience with PLC and SCADA programming, and prior experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
