Senior Clinical Services Manager

Deep River and District Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Services Manager to lead our Acute Care department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinical areas, including staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and supervise the operations of the Acute Care department, ensuring high-quality patient care and services.
• Monitor workload data and patient volumes, adjusting staff and resources accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and statistics for patients and department personnel, adhering to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Ensure departmental operations align with organizational priorities and budgets.
• Supervise staff, supporting communication, staff development, and performance evaluations.
• Identify and support educational initiatives that align with operational and strategic outcomes.
• Maintain records, reports, and statistics for patients and department personnel, adhering to policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Review and complete follow-up incident reports, identifying trends and communicating them to quality, professional, and leadership teams.
• Identify and take appropriate actions to prevent and minimize risks, investigating, responding, and reporting sentinel and critical events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Registered Nurse with a current certificate of competence, in good standing, from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current member in related professional nursing, interest group, or association.
• Five (5) years of leadership experience in a hospital environment.
• Experience managing within a unionized environment with knowledge of the collective bargaining process.
• Knowledge of current nursing and healthcare practices and trends.
• Must be computer literate, with competency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, computerized patient care and assessment programs.
• Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Excellent Care for All legislation.
• Proven ability to coach and train with an understanding of adult learning principles.
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
• Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
• Maintain staff and patient confidentiality.
• Exceptional leadership abilities and a demonstrated passion for engaging employees and promoting a supportive and productive work culture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of individuals, including patients, residents, families, employees, and community partners.
• Excellent attendance record.
