About the Logistics Support RoleThe Logistics Support position plays a critical role in our team, ensuring a well-maintained, safe, effective, and efficient logistical status of operations. This includes exercising the highest standards of cleanliness available in the industry and conducting themselves safely and prudently.
This key position provides inventory coordination and monitoring of medical consumables and equipment, shipping and receiving support, and scheduling and logistics of preventative maintenance for medical and operational equipment. The Logistics Support member will ensure all logistics pertaining to inventory, ambulances, and support units are safe, effective, maintained, cleaned, and stocked according to policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate documentation for MHSW logistical accountability.
- Ensure scheduled work is completed timely and acceptably.
- Manage incoming shipments and ship out orders to various stations across the province.
- Maintain an accurate asset inventory through counts and reports as required.
- Comply with MHSW policies and procedures for picking supplies, equipment, and assets.
- Routinely request stock and proactively replace supplies before they diminish, ensuring maximum inventory levels at supply stations.
- Facilitate shipping and receiving of goods and materials for domestic and international destinations with vendors.
- Support logistics for delivering equipment and supplies to MHSW stations.
- Operate company vehicles according to all policies.
- Compile lists of mechanical, medical, and cleaning parts and supplies as required.
- Ensure ambulances based out of Fleet centers are stocked.
- Complete drop-off and pick-ups of outsourced ambulances and support units.
- Clean and decontaminate vehicle interiors or exteriors according to proper policies and company standards.
- Conduct ongoing cleanliness of the ambulance bay during scheduled shifts and weekly complete center cleanings.
- Fog units with equipment that destroys biological pathogens when required.
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Two to three years of related experience and excellent working knowledge of inventory control processes, vehicle detailing, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Completed courses in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and other courses related to ambulance manufacturing, repair, inventory control, and cleaning, or be willing to obtain them.
- Experience using ITACIT is an asset.
- A valid Class 4 driver's license.
