Job Opportunity: The University of Toronto is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Associate / Full Professor - Gabor Zellerman Chair in Nephrology Research.
About the Position:
The successful candidate will hold a full-time clinical faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. The Chairholder will be responsible for running an internationally recognized research program with a broad and inclusive perspective that contributes significantly to the body of scholarship on nephrology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a research program that focuses on the maintenance of kidney health, epidemiology, pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of kidney disease.
- Establish a record of excellence in scientific productivity and leadership, including grants, peer-reviewed publications, program development, collaborations with national and international organizations, supervision of graduate students and fellows, and other contributions to the field.
- Provide mentorship to early faculty and trainees across the spectrum of nephrology research.
- Engage in sustained excellence in teaching and contribute to the development of educational programs in nephrology research.
- Bring strong administrative and interpersonal skills to the role.
Requirements:
- Hold a primary clinical appointment at the University Health Network.
- Be eligible to hold a full-time clinical faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
- Have a record of scholarly activity, including grants, peer-reviewed publications, program development, collaborations with national and international organizations, supervision of graduate students and fellows, and other contributions to the field.
What We Offer:
The endowed chair will support academic activities of the Chairholder, which may include salary support, research operations, and relevant educational events.
