About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team at D&R Custom Steel Inc. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of steel fabrication and welding services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welding and Fabrication: Interpret welding process specifications, operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Quality Control: Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment by following all health and safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Certifications: Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Pressure Welding Certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate, Fall Arrest Protection Training Course, and Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
