We are seeking a skilled Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist to join our team at the Employment Help Centre. In this role, you will play a vital part in helping patients improve their quality of life through optimal hearing health.
Job DescriptionThis is a part-time position that offers a schedule of 2-3 days per week, with the possibility of increased hours in the future. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering exceptional hearing healthcare services
- Assessing and treating clients with various degrees and types of hearing loss
- Administering and interpreting audiology diagnostic tests and troubleshooting equipment as needed
- Prescribing, fitting, programming, verifying, and validating hearing aids from all manufacturers
- Providing ongoing counseling and support to patients, their families, and caregivers
- Performing administrative duties such as patient scheduling and booking appointments by phone as needed
We are looking for an individual who:
- Holds a Masters of Clinical Science degree in Audiology (M.Cl.Sc. or M.Sc.) or is fully registered as a Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) with the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario (AHIP)
- Has 1-3 years of experience in a clinical audiology setting
- Is experienced in performing safe cerumen management (earwax removal) using various techniques
- Demonstrates strong clinical skills in adults and is willing to learn pediatric audiology
- Excels in verbal and written communication
- Able to build rapport and provide patient education
- Displays superior judgment, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Takes initiative in the clinic and with clients to help them along their journey towards better hearing
