Director of Operations

The Director of Operations at Fantasyland Hotel is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational activities of the hotel and West Edmonton Mall Inn. This position requires a strong leader who can ensure the highest level of quality services are provided to guests at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to management teams in areas such as Front Office, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Food and Beverage departments.
  • Develop and implement operational standards, quality assurance inspections, and guest satisfaction programs.
  • Take a hands-on approach to assist hotel departments when required and ensure smooth operations in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Lead by example as a customer service-focused presence on the floor, setting the standard for hospitality service to guests.
  • Provide input on new operational initiatives and enhancements to the property, creating business plans to achieve desired results.
  • Assist the General Manager with escalation issues related to customer service concerns, employee relations, and quality control measures.
  • Work with internal departments to ensure hotel security, human resources, and IT standards are adhered to.
  • Review financial reports and documentation to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of seven to ten years of experience in a senior-level hotel management position in a large volume, high-end hotel or resort property.
  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Hospitality and Management or a related discipline.
  • Outstanding leadership, team building, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial and revenue management experience, with a working knowledge of Hotel Rooms Division and Food and Beverage operations.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create a quality hotel experience for guests and build a motivated team.

Terms of Employment:

  • This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed.
  • This is a salaried position, with compensation dependent on experience and qualifications.
  • This position qualifies for the 4-day workweek program.
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
