Job Title: Welder

GMH FLEET SERVICES INC is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, and ensuring that welds meet standards and/or specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret welding process specifications and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
  • Fitting, brazing and torch-straightening metal, operating oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC) and determining weldability of materials.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
  • Fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods and overtime required.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, team player, work term: permanent, work language: English and hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
