Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Driver Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in driver retention initiatives, maintaining fair work distribution, and communicating dispatch information.
Key Responsibilities
- Support driver retention initiatives to ensure a high-performing team
- Maintain a fair and equitable distribution of work among drivers
- Communicate dispatch information to drivers as required
- Monitor driver performance, miles, and reefer requirements
- Respond to driver satellite messages and provide solutions to driver concerns
- Assist with the development of driver skills, including customs, hazmat, hours of service, policy, and regulations
- Communicate and problem-solve with customers as required
Requirements
- Knowledge of truckload dispatch is an asset
- Experience with ACE and customs/border crossing is an asset
- AS400/ICC experience is an asset
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong self-discipline and initiative
- Creative and effective problem-solving ability
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Intermediate-level computer skills and proficient keyboarding
- Understanding of North American geography
Work Schedule
This is a night shift position, working from 7:00pm to 7:00am, Friday to Sunday. The employee will be required to work statutory holidays if they fall on their regular shift, except for Christmas.
