Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team. As a mental health care specialist, you will provide high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide client-centered care to patients with diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with an inter-professional team.
  • Use critical thinking and customer service skills to approach patient care.
  • Ensure the safety and security of patients on the unit and practice according to professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Liaise with other services and community agencies to coordinate care for patients.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to make behavioral observations, conduct physical and mental status assessments, and monitor patient response to interventions.
  • Sound knowledge of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, severe and persistent mental illness, addiction issues, recovery-oriented approaches, culturally competent care, trauma-informed care, and group facilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behavior.
  • Supports a healthy work environment that embraces diversity, encourages interprofessional teamwork, and complies with regulatory requirements.
