Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Clerk to join our team at Alberta Ltd. as a Bookkeeping Specialist or Accounting Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Calculating and preparing cheques for payroll
  • Calculating fixed assets and depreciation
  • Keeping financial records and establishing, maintaining, and balancing various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintaining general ledgers and financial statements
  • Posting journal entries
  • Preparing other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
  • Preparing tax returns
  • Preparing trial balance of books
  • Reconciling accounts
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Financial Clerk must have:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Fast-paced environment
  • Overtime required
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Tight deadlines
  • Work under pressure
Working Conditions

The Financial Clerk will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and overtime required. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and have strong attention to detail.

MS Excel, MS Word, and Quick Books skills are required for this position.
