Your Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Addiction Counsellor III to provide high-quality, client-focused recovery-based services at the Red Deer Adult Addiction and Mental Health Clinic. The successful candidate will be experienced in providing counselling for adults with substance abuse, gambling, and/or related behaviors that may or may not co-occur with mental health conditions.
Description:
As an Addiction Counsellor III, you will provide assessment, treatment, case management, crisis intervention, education, and referral services for clients and their families. You will develop and implement treatment plans and provide a range of interventions that offer least intrusive and most appropriate services to clients and their families.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Addictions or a related field with coursework in Addictions. A related degree combined with a diploma in Addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) must maintain active registration.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Training in Motivational Interviewing and an understanding of harm reduction related to substance use would be an asset.
