Job Opportunity: French as a Second Language Teacher

The London District Catholic School Board is seeking a qualified French as a Second Language (FSL) teacher to join our team at St. Thomas More Catholic Elementary School. This is a permanent assignment opportunity for a dedicated educator who is passionate about teaching French as a second language.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach French as a second language to elementary students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education degree and good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Qualifications appropriate to the position, including previous elementary teaching experience
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession
  • Practicing Catholic with an active Catholic faith life
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of Ontario curriculum, evaluation, and assessment techniques
  • Current understanding of research, integrating technology, and best instructional practices
  • Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment
