About the Role:

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Montreal, QC. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of EHS programs, experience setting up and managing EHS programs in industrial and engineering settings, and a strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.

The EHS Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining EHS policies, programs, and procedures within our management system, ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, local, and customer EHS requirements.

This role will also serve as a subject matter expert in occupational safety and health, environmental, and sustainability matters for L3Harris Technologies. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to guide operations leaders in implementing EHS programs, building a zero-injury culture, and minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor company EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met during space planning, building expansions, and other changes in facilities or work areas.
  • Conduct workplace surveys, safety audits, and assessments, advising management on conditions requiring corrective action.
  • Provide EHS briefings and training sessions to fulfill regulatory requirements and foster a safe working environment.
  • Lead the EHS committee and engage all employees to take ownership of EHS.
  • Support sustainability project identification and execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a related capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong technical understanding of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations and practices.
  • Organizational skills and cross-group work experience.
  • Able to guide teams without a formal management role.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
