Concrete Technician

Egis Canada is a leading engineering and consulting firm with a strong presence in North America. We are currently seeking a skilled Concrete Lab/Field Technician to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and durability of concrete used in construction projects. This will involve daily visits to construction sites to collect samples and perform various tests on concrete mixes, working closely with engineers, contractors, and other professionals.
The position requires a strong understanding of concrete properties, testing methods, and the ability to work collaboratively. Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting tests on concrete mixes to determine properties such as slump, air content, temperature, and density;
- Performing compression tests on concrete cylinders to assess strength characteristics;
- Daily visits to various construction sites to collect samples;
- Maintaining accurate records of all testing procedures and results;
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, specifications, and regulations;
- General concrete laboratory duties, including operating and maintaining testing equipment and tools;
- Working outside and being exposed to changing weather conditions;
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering technology education or a closely related discipline, with education in concrete technology being an asset. CCIL certification is also an asset, but not required. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes is essential, as is the ability to operate concrete testing equipment and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
