Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Optimus Cargo Carriers LTD. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Mountain Driving Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in driving in mountainous terrain, ensuring safe and timely delivery of goods.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Logistics and Operations: Arrange travel itineraries, make reservations, and oversee the loading and unloading of goods.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by tarping and inspecting it regularly.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Possess a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Travel Requirements: Be willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods, and overnight.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to handle heavy loads, work in physically demanding environments, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, and a team player attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Truck Driver is an asset.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Schedule: Be available to work 40 to 50 hours per week.
