About the Role

CIBC is seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Planning and Advice team, you will be responsible for providing expert financial planning counsel to our high net worth clients.

As a Financial Planning Consultant, you will work closely with our branch-based advisors to develop comprehensive financial plans that meet the unique needs of our clients. You will analyze customer portfolios, prepare retirement and investment plans, and educate clients about their investments and portfolio.

You will also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with our clients and colleagues, and for identifying opportunities to make referrals to other CIBC subsidiaries involved in client asset management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide subject matter expertise on economic and political impact on the business, legislation, competitors, regulators, trends, etc.
  2. Analyze customer portfolios and prepare retirement and investment plans.
  3. Educate clients about their investments and portfolio.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  5. Identify opportunities to make referrals to other CIBC subsidiaries involved in client asset management.
Requirements
  1. 7-10 years of financial advisory/sales experience with High Net Worth clients.
  2. Extensive investment knowledge and expertise.
  3. Strong understanding of markets sufficient to respond to detailed and complex inquiries from a sophisticated, knowledgeable and high net-worth client group.
  4. Certified professional with the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH).
  5. Successful designation of IQPF.
