About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care portfolio. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing assessment, intervention, and education services to patients and their families. Your expertise in clinical health psychology and experience working with elderly populations will be invaluable in addressing the psychosocial needs of our patients.

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will work collaboratively with our inter-professional team to develop and implement care plans that address the complex needs of our patients. Your ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team will be essential in providing high-quality care. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of programs that support the psychosocial wellbeing of our patients.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong clinical health psychology background and experience working with elderly populations. A one-year accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship is required, and registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology is a must. Familiarity with clinical health psychology assessment and intervention, as well as experience working with dementia and other diagnoses, is highly desirable.

About You
  • Doctoral degree from a recognized, accredited program in Clinical Psychology
  • One-year accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
  • Familiarity with clinical health psychology assessment and intervention
  • Familiarity with dementia and other diagnoses
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating diagnoses and implementing treatment plans
  • Self-directed in practice with ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in clinical research and program evaluation
  • Experience in clinical supervision of psychology trainees
  • Experience with training program development and evaluation
  • Competencies in other languages an asset
Hours
  • Long assignment, Part-time (50%) position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately a 12-month assignment
Compensation and Incentives

$50.19 - $62.74 Hourly
