Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems, as well as make modifications to systems during small renovations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire suppression systems that are not functioning properly, and make necessary repairs to ensure system integrity.
  • Install new fire suppression systems in both retrofitted and new construction projects, coordinating with on-site trades and tracking and ordering materials as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire suppression systems, including fire pumps, hydrants, alarm valves, and other devices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest codes and standards related to fire protection.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Fire Protection Technician, specifically in Sprinkler/Standpipe Systems.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter certification is preferred.
  • This is a unionized position.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean abstract is required.

Compensation

Rate: $43.60 per hour
