Ciena Canada, Inc. is committed to fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Our team of experts in optical communication systems is seeking a skilled FEC Design Engineer to join our WaveLogic science team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and analyze forward error correction (FEC) designs for next-generation high-speed optical communication systems.
  • Work closely with the Modem Signal Processing Team on the implementation of digital algorithms in Ciena products.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. / Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with a background in Coding theory/Statistics/Mathematics and/or Digital Communications.
  • Familiarity with different types of FEC such as LDPC, algebraic (RS, BCH, RM) and Polar codes would be an asset.
  • C, C++ experience would be an asset.

As a member of our WaveLogic science team, you will contribute to the design and development of next-generation coherent transceivers. You will work closely with our Modem Signal Processing Team to implement digital algorithms in Ciena products.
