About the Role

Xiingo is seeking a skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Network Setup: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
  • Network Security: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
  • Web-Server Backup and Recovery: Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Networking software, networking hardware, networking security, extranet, intranet, Internet, servers, MS Office, MS Windows.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to detail.
