Manitoba Horse Council (MHC) is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Board of Directors as Vice President of Finance. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing MHC\u2019s financial affairs, ensuring the organization\u2019s financial performance is monitored and reported accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Chair the Finance Committee, meeting 2-3 times a year to discuss and review financial matters.
  2. Work with the Finance Committee and Executive Director to review and analyze the operating budget, financial policy, and procedures annually.
  3. Provide regular financial reports to the Board, including a statement of operations, balance sheet, and budget to actuals.
  4. Ensure compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards.
  5. Support the Executive Director and Bookkeeper as needed.
  6. Hold signing authority for financial transactions.
Requirements:

Previous board experience is desired, and a CPA or similar designation is required.

Time Commitment:

4-8 hours per month, with a three-year term (with opportunity to renew for two additional terms).

Remote volunteering, with opportunities to meet in person as needed.
