**Job Summary**

Giant Tiger is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Store Associate to join our team. As a key member of our store staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting the sales team in achieving sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Operate electronic cash registers, mainline, and self-checkouts, accurately recording customer transactions.
  • Replenish merchandise around the checkout area, maintaining a well-stocked and visually appealing store environment.
  • Follow up on hot selling items, completing markdowns and SKU changes as needed.
  • Maintain planograms, labels, tickets, and signing standards, ensuring a cohesive and engaging store display.
  • Perform cycle counts as required, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery.
  • Follow health and safety policies and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Ensure the checkout work area is kept clean and organized.
  • Follow Loss prevention best practices, minimizing shrinkage and protecting company assets.

Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work a mix of days, evenings, and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 18 kg (40 lbs.).

Keyholder Premium (If Applicable):

Opening and closing the store on an ad hoc basis, ensuring the store is well-stocked and ready for customers, and maintaining a clean and tidy environment.

Ensuring all Associates have completed their end of shift tasks, responsible for security of the store, including locking and setting alarm.

Starting up registers, unlocking and disabling alarm, receiving deliveries.

Employee Universal Accountabilities:

Ensures a high level of customer service.

Ensuring health and safety policies and guidelines are followed.

Ensuring Loss prevention best practices are followed.

Ensuring compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery.

Ensuring emergency protocols are followed.
