About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Horticultural Labourer to join our team at Woodmore Nurseries Inc.

Job Summary

This is a physically demanding role that requires individuals to work in a fast-paced environment, performing various tasks related to greenhouse maintenance and plant care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness of the greenhouse by cleaning work areas, equipment, and disposing of waste.
  • Plant Care: Plant bulbs and seeds, transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings, apply fertilizers, water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Insect and Disease Management: Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides as necessary.
  • Seed Harvesting: Harvest seedlings for planting and cutting seeds for future use.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but experience is an asset.
  • Work Experience: Previous experience in horticulture or a related field is preferred.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, bend, crouch, kneel, and have good hand-eye coordination.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. The language of work is English.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits may include opportunities for professional growth and development.
