We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our team at Mosaic Potash Esterhazy Limited Partnership. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our industrial equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, install, adjust, and maintain mechanical machines and equipment on site.
- Dismantle, repair, and assemble plant equipment in line with manufacturers' specifications and recommended standards.
- Safely operate specific units of mobile equipment, including overhead and mobile crane.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and components.
- Display full knowledge and use of drawings, prints, sketches, and parts manuals.
- Display full knowledge and use of micrometer and dial indicator and other tools necessary to achieve the settings and tolerances required.
- Operate all equipment serviced or repaired.
- Pass all related training classes.
- Work from ladder, platform, staging scaffold, swing stage, and mobile equipment basket.
- If required, be prepared to train and handle firefighting duties as a member of the shift fire crew.
- Interpret and carry out written or oral instructions and make written reports as required.
- Diligently adhere to all relevant legal environmental requirements.
- Diligently ensure that all relevant OH&S requirements and in-house safety regulations are complied with.
- A recognized, valid, Red Seal Journeyman/Journey Person Industrial Mechanic's Certificate.
- Full knowledge of the safe utilization and care of power and hand tools.
- Full knowledge of cutting and welding practices.
- The ability to discern the state of mechanical condition of machines and equipment and take appropriate action.
- Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks, including criminal, drug, and alcohol testing.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work alone or partner with others.
- Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environments, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals, and transport vehicles.
- Physical work environment is frequently outdoors and exposed to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self or the safety of others.
- Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally.
- Able to climb stairs and work at various heights.
- Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns, or materials.
- Able to hear, with or without correction.
- Able to read, write, and understand basic English.
- Able to see, with or without correction.
- Able to use fine hand motor skills.
- Able to wear a respirator.
- Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
