As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Alberta Health Services, you will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and AHS policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify care needs, and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patient progress, report changes, and adjust care plans as needed.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous long-term care experience.
  • CCHSS training.
  • ROL training.
