Job Summary:

Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology is seeking a qualified English Language Instructor to join its team. As a casual instructor, you will be responsible for teaching English language programs to international students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English language classes to students of varying skill levels
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
  • Communicate with students, colleagues, and administrators in a professional and respectful manner

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • TESL certificate from an institution recognized by TESL Canada or Languages Canada
  • Experience in ESL education and/or international language programs
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs and issues of international students
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage and control a classroom
  • Ability to enforce school policies, particularly those related to student honesty and integrity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience working with adult learners and international students

Conditions of Employment:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record check, including vulnerable sector and Child Abuse Registry Check
