Job Title: Psychiatric Nursing Assistant

At Shared Health, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nursing Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will participate as an active member of the treatment team, carrying out specific therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions with patients based on recovery/treatment plans developed following the Psychosocial Rehabilitation model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patients with supervision and guidance, assistance with personal care, comfort, and support in going about daily living, therapeutic, and recreational activities in a safe manner.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledge in Aboriginal customs, traditions, and values.
Working Conditions

The position involves extensive physical activity, such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
