Job Title: Truck Driver - Long Haul

Big Rig Hauling is seeking a skilled Truck Driver - Long Haul to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials over long distances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances.
  • Load and unload goods in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption in a logbook.
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo is a critical aspect of this role.
Requirements:
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A) is required.
  • Experience as a truck driver is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with dispatchers and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
