Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team at Incognito Software Systems. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated build and deployment pipelines for our applications.
- Manage and optimize our infrastructure as code using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Help administer and maintain our virtualization stack, including OpenStack, AWS, and GCP.
- Administrate DevOps systems like JIRA and Jenkins, and set global policy for their usage.
- Implement monitoring automation systems and proactively respond to breakages.
- Document all aspects of the DevOps environment.
- Work with engineering teams to design, prototype, and implement new automated workflows.
- Collaborate with IS and engineering teams to establish best security practices.
- Propose and champion best DevOps practices and tools.
Requirements
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years' experience creating and maintaining complex and automated dev/ops environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Linux distributions.
- Advanced scripting and dev/ops programming language skills, including Python.
- Experience with build systems and tools like Makefile.
- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
- Experience with Git-related source-control tools.
- Hands-on experience with OpenStack, with expert administration level a plus.
- Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or other cloud technologies.
- Experience with containers, container orchestration, and management tools.
- Excellent understanding of debugging best practices.
- Good knowledge of network protocols and simulation tools.
- Good understanding of modern architecture concepts like microservices and REST APIs.
- Good understanding of best security practices.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for problems spanning multiple domains.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to take ownership and work independently.
