As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a larger team executing projects across various sectors and locations in Western Canada.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate and engineer mechanical systems or products for a project, ensuring they meet technical excellence and quality control standards.
  2. Act as a technical advisor on mechanical design issues and guide staff on solutions.
  3. Develop designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  4. Utilize BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of building's mechanical systems.
  5. Prepare and revise mechanical documentation in various project phases.
  6. Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and external consultants.
  7. Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
  8. Support the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
  9. Mentor junior engineers and develop their skills and abilities.
  10. Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and those of peers.
  11. Assist in developing new standards and specifications for the mechanical group.
  12. Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
  13. Develop proposals for diverse types and scales of projects.

Your Qualifications and Capabilities

  1. In-depth knowledge of mechanical codes, energy codes, ASHRAE standards, and building codes.
  2. Strong understanding of all building mechanical systems.
  3. Ability to lead teams through project document production with knowledge of professional services procurement processes.
  4. Strong presentation and interview skills.
  5. Ability to qualify for security clearance based on client requirements.
  6. Ability to travel for projects such as client meetings and site reviews.
  7. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.

Bachelor's Degree and Professional Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering & Licensed Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  3. LEED Green Associate or LEED AP BD C preferred.
