Job Description:

This is a role in the Kinross Gold Corporation team that involves supporting procurement activities related to indirect purchases and corporate contracts. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supply chain optimization.

The Junior Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for assisting in contract management, supplier negotiations, data analysis, and process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and compliance. This role provides a foundation in procurement and contract management, offering opportunities for career growth into roles such as Procurement Analyst, Contracts Specialist, Strategic Sourcing Analyst, or Category Manager with experience and further training.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the administration of corporate contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Support supplier selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation for indirect purchases (e.g., office supplies, IT services, professional services, travel, facilities management).
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase agreements, and supplier evaluations in procurement systems.
  • Ensure contract renewals and amendments are tracked and processed in a timely manner.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to monitor spending, contract performance, and supplier KPIs.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to indirect procurement.
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance based on cost, quality, service levels, and compliance.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to address supplier-related issues and ensure smooth contract execution.
  • Support risk assessments related to supplier dependency and contractual obligations.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement best practices and process improvements.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support sustainability initiatives related to responsible sourcing and supplier diversity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Assist in internal audits and compliance checks for procurement and contract management activities.
  • Participate in supplier meetings, negotiations, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in procurement, contract management, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with procurement software (e.g., Ariba, JD Edwards) is a plus.
  • Speaking French, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese considered an asset.
