The City of Edmonton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Advisor to join our team. As a key member of the Office of the Chief Communications Officer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing communication plans that support the organization's labor relations and collective bargaining portfolios.
In this temporary position, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and recommendations to clients, developing and implementing communication plans that progress through the collective bargaining process, and producing a wide array of communication materials for external audiences. You will also manage sensitive and confidential information, work alongside subject matter experts, and prepare media and social media monitoring reports.
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in communications, public relations, or a related field, and extensive experience in written communications skills, labor relations, and crisis communications. If you have a proven ability to establish effective working relationships, demonstrate commitment to ethical communication practice and confidentiality, and align with our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies, we encourage you to apply.
About the Role
This is a temporary full-time position for up to 11 months, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work standard hours during regular operations, with occasional evening and weekend work required during activations of corporate contingency or crisis plans. We offer a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite.
What We Offer
The City of Edmonton offers a competitive salary range of $43.617 - $54.961 (hourly) or $91,072.30 - $114,758.57 (annually), depending on experience.
