About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our team at Ammbii Carpentry Inc. As a Construction Laborer, you will play a vital role in the construction process, assisting in various tasks such as loading and unloading materials, erecting scaffolding, and mixing and pouring concrete.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials, such as lumber, tools, and equipment, from trucks and other vehicles.
  • Erecting Scaffolding: Help to set up and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, and other temporary structures on construction sites.
  • Mixing and Pouring Concrete: Assist in mixing and pouring concrete, as well as spreading and finishing it to ensure a smooth and even surface.
  • Assisting in Drilling and Blasting: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Assisting in Framing and Building: Help to frame houses, erect walls, and build roofs, using various tools and equipment.
  • Demolishing Buildings: Assist in demolishing buildings, using specialized equipment and techniques to safely and efficiently remove structures.
  • Cleaning Up Spills and Debris: Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants on construction sites, using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Removing Rubble and Debris: Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites, using various tools and equipment.
  • Tending to Equipment: Tend to and feed machines and equipment used in construction, ensuring they are in good working order and properly maintained.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work environment, requiring manual dexterity, repetitive tasks, and handling heavy loads.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a physically demanding work setting.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with grinding machines, chippers, jackhammers, air compressors, nail guns, chain saws, sandblasters, and sledgehammers.
  • Construction Specialization: Residential construction specialization.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check required.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Vehicle supplied by employer.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a physically demanding work setting.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Hard hat and safety glasses/goggles required.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude required.
