System Engineering Leadership for Telesat Lightspeed

We are seeking a highly experienced Manager, System Engineering to lead our team in the implementation of system engineering practices required for the design of the Telesat Lightspeed constellation.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of system engineers with varying levels of experience and provide expert-level guidance on communication systems engineering activities, including system-level requirements definition, concept of operations (CONOPS), and performance assessments.
- Lead the implementation of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) using the Capella tool and work closely with the Lightspeed Architecture committee to align system engineering activities with development priorities.
- Collaborate with the Integration and Test group to ensure proper validation of requirements and plan for system performance validation.
- Attend Delivery Review Board (DRB) meetings and represent systems engineering in reviewing system performance acceptability and contributing to non-conformance disposition.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system engineering, with a strong background in communication systems and system design.
- Experience with business considerations and practical limitations related to system design and implementation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral.
- Knowledge of layer 2 transport network and Metro Ethernet Standard (Carrier Ethernet).
- Experience performing analysis and simulation of communication systems.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams, and partners/suppliers.
$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
