Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Engagement Specialist to join our team at Island Health. The successful candidate will have a diploma in Communications or Public Relations and four years of recent experience in web-based and social media communications, including experience with content management systems.

Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work as a positive and enthusiastic team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond with initiative
  • Fluency in digital platforms, content management systems, and social media
  • Experience with and/or ability to learn basic coding (including CSS, HTML5)
  • Understanding of web and social media analytics and campaign management
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other content development software
  • Ability to work quickly and independently, meet multiple deadlines, and make efficient decisions
  • Proficiency with SharePoint for team collaboration and content publishing
  • Excellent oral and written skills in communications with all levels of health care providers, patients, and clients
  • Health literacy and an understanding of literacy levels an asset
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
