About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Planning Specialist to join our team at Barrick. As a key member of our geotechnical team, you will be responsible for reviewing and managing slope stability data collection and analysis of geologic structure, blast design, and slope monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage slope stability data collection and analysis of geologic structure, blast design, and slope monitoring
- Inspect and communicate pit and dump inspection results
- Provide clear and concise communication of geotechnical information to site personnel
- Proactively improve processes related to slope monitoring and slope design
- Understand the use of surface stability and geologic modeling software programs
- Understand 3-D geologic model inputs and development, and impacts on slope stability
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work safely and recognize hazards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering or related field
- 0 – 3 years hands-on geotechnical experience at an active open pit mine site
- Knowledge of open pit mining principles
