Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Casa Mia Care, a heritage home offering long-term care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging recreation programs for residents, including outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, and games.
- Assist residents with mobility and provide personal care during recreational activities as needed.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' behavior or condition to the supervisor and/or nurse.
- Ensure the safe use, maintenance, and storage of recreational equipment and supplies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, meetings, and educational in-services as required.
- Assist with the orientation of new residents.
Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program.
- Experience in a senior-focused recreation department is an asset.
- Basic First Aid Certificate (current).
- Food Safe Course or equivalent (current).
- Proof of COVID vaccination.

Casa Mia is a heritage home offering 90 long-term care beds, with a focus on providing a modern care environment and a throwback to Vancouver's heritage.
We work in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and offer a range of services to support the well-being of our residents.
