As a Clinical Counsellor with EHN Canada, you will play a critical role in providing individual, group, and family therapy, education, and ongoing assessment of progress to clients. You will also be responsible for case coordination and communication across an inter-professional team, as well as communicating with referral agencies and offering support and guidance to clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients with various mental health concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and substance use disorders.
  • Work therapeutically with diverse client populations through group therapy, individual and family therapy, and assessment.
  • Deliver education sessions to clients and public audiences as needed.
  • Identify treatment issues and goals with clients, coordinating across broader clinical teams when appropriate.
  • Collaborate in the development, implementation, and follow-up of client care plans and discharge plans.
  • Complete detailed documentation and charting, preparing reports and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Manage client caseloads and participate in regular meetings and consultation meetings of teams.
  • Liaise with referral sources, such as aftercare providers, EAP representatives, parole and probation officers, verbally, electronically, and/or in writing on a regular basis.
  • Engage in personal professional development, maintain appropriate professional associations, and provide current documentation to the Human Resources Department.
  • Act as a resource person for practicum students and other professionals as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three to five years of clinical experience.
  • Professional experience with individuals with concurrent disorders, such as mood and anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, acute stress disorders, and PTSD.
  • Master's degree in a regulated healthcare professional program preferred.
  • Current registration with a regulated professional college.
  • CBT and DBT certification an asset.
  • Knowledge of the DSM-V, including Substance Use Disorders.
