**Job Summary**

Child & Family Services of Central Manitoba Inc. is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic professional to fill the position of Intake Worker. This is a full-time permanent role that requires strong organizational and administrative skills, as well as the ability to assess risk in child protection situations.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Act as the first point of contact for new referrals by phone, mail, or walk-in
  • Assess referrals to determine whether they fall within the parameters of the Child and Family Services Act
  • Take necessary steps to protect a child in situations requiring immediate action
  • Adhere to administrative requirements of the agency, province, and Four Authorities
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a background in Child and Family Services
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Social Work is also preferred
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and several years of experience in Child and Family Services are essential
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills are required, as well as demonstrated skill and judgment in assessing risk in child protection situations
  • Ability to flex office hours to accommodate noon hour coverage is necessary
